In 2006, the Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Company celebrated 85 years of service to the Owings Mills and neighboring communities. Chartered on September 24, 1921, it took three more years to raise sufficient funds for the purchase of its first new engine, a 1924 American LaFrance. Today, we are the busiest of thirty-three volunteer stations in Baltimore County, proudly serving with 7 state-of-the-art specialty emergency response vehicles. Since the Company’s inception, its members have always focused on our mission to protect the safety and property, and meet the emergency medical needs of our neighbors, every hour of every day.
In 2008, our personnel delivered emergency services to a population of about 60,000, in one of Baltimore County’s most rapidly growing areas. Last year, we responded to 2,180 fire suppression related responses and 1,904 emergency medical incidents. Our members spend countless hours training and practicing critical life saving skills. Our expertise must span from vehicular extrication techniques, to fire search and rescue, to fire suppression operations, to emergency medical procedures. All of our skills are acquired and kept current by our members in their spare time – so that we may serve you best in your time of need.
We are proud to serve our community. As always, we appreciate everyone who supports us in our effort to be there for you – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
